Frasers Property Industrial in Australia has officially marked the start of construction of its Vantage Yatala estate in Queensland. The next generation industrial precinct, which has a total end value in excess of $300 million, will consolidate the Yatala region’s position as one of the major distribution hubs for South East Queensland.
Together with key stakeholders, Troy Whalan, General Manager, Queensland for Frasers Property Industrial hosted a ‘Turning of the sod’ celebration on site, with special guests including City of Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate, Deputy Mayor Donna Gates and Councillor Mark Hammel.
Primely located in the southern corridor between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, the 650,000 square metre estate will showcase the very best in accessibility, efficiency, amenity and sustainability for industrial property. This includes over 2.3 hectares of green open space, 5.5km of running and bike track, a network of outdoor exercise equipment, rainwater capture and reuse systems, Solar PV and an overall targeted 5 Star Green Star rating for all Frasers Property Industrial buildings.
Thousands of jobs are being created for Queenslanders during the construction of Vantage Yatala, in addition to hundreds of full-time positions on completion.
Ian Barter, General Manager Northern Region for Frasers Property Industrial comments, “Vantage Yatala will be a next generation industrial precinct of an impressive scale, setting the standard our new industrial estates moving forward. Here we will see the best in sustainable design, leading amenity and strategic positioning come together powerfully.
“The estate is on a large land holding that’s close to major infrastructure, key transport arterials and the coastal area, offering the best of work and life between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. This makes it a highly attractive offering for businesses and their workforces, which are increasingly focused on improving lifestyles and finding operational efficiencies.
“It’s fantastic to see the project enter its next phase, with the construction creating thousands of jobs in the region at a critical time,” said Mr Barter.
Vantage Yatala has attracted interest from a number of light manufacturing, warehousing and logistics companies. This interest is particularly high following a year where the pandemic fuelled an increase in e-commerce and onshore manufacturing.
Practical completion of Stage 1 of Vantage Yatala is scheduled for September 2021. SEE Civil is the appointed construction contractor.
Frasers Property Industrial has an established presence in Yatala, operating in the area for over four years and attracting major transport and manufacturing companies such as O-I Glass, Beaulieu Australia, Oji Fibre Solutions, Reward Hospitality and Schutz Australia to its industrial facilities. The company has over $137 million worth of existing development and land holdings in the region.
