- New 36,402 sqm logistics development to commence construction in January 2024
- The transaction follows another acquisition in Landsberg, Germany as the second successful European development acquisition in less than two months
Frasers Property Industrial has acquired a development from Amazone Real Estate strategically located in Lelystad, the Netherlands. The development encompasses the construction of a new logistics facility spanning 36,402 sqm with construction set to begin in January. Goldbeck Nederland B.V. has been appointed as the construction partner for this project. Located in the province of Flevoland with the site’s strategic proximity to Amsterdam, the A6 motorway and nearby Flevokust Barge Terminal makes the new site attractive to companies looking to connect easily throughout the Netherlands and with central Europe, the UK and Northern Europe.
The facility comprises two-units designed in collaboration with leading architects Convexarchitecten. Unit A will include a 15,532 sqm warehouse, 1,389 sqm mezzanine space and a 1,304 sqm office. Unit B is a 15,656 sqm warehouse with a 1,217 sqm mezzanine and 1,304 sqm office space. A total of 290 car parking spaces and 16 truck parking spaces will be split evenly amongst the units, which will also include features that foster employee's health and wellbeing such as a rooftop terrace and outdoor recreation facilities like a BBQ area. Superflat floors in both units will support automated storage systems and a floor load of 60KN/sqm will also provide significant capacity to store heavy materials.
Frasers Property Industrial is targeting a BREEAM Excellent certification for the new development, which will feature PV solar panels, smart metering, grey water usage and a VRF heating system to ensure resource efficiency. Other sustainability features will include electric vehicle chargers for bicycles and cars, as well as landscaping that supports ecological biodiversity such as greenery and insect hotels.
