European portfolio expands with Alezenau acquisition in Germany

COLOGNE, 30 JANUARY 2023

Frasers Property Industrial has acquired a 4.1 hectare commercial site in one of Germany’s top logistics regions, Alzenau, in the district of Aschaffenburg, adding to its strategic land bank in Europe. Development plans for the site will create three state-of-the-art industrial units totalling 21,400 sqm.

Located at the Alzenau North industrial park in Lower Franconia, the property is close to the Bavarian-Hessian border and the major metropolitan region of Frankfurt am Main. Only 50 kilometres east of Frankfurt Airport, there are few vacant sites available for industrial use in this high-demand region that boasts important infrastructure hubs and convenient public transport for site workers. The site is only 1.8 kilometres from the A45 motorway and 13 kilometres from the A3 motorway, providing good transport connections across Germany and to the relevant border regions.

Colliers International Deutschland GmbH acted as advisors for the acquisition.

Alexander Heubes, Managing Director Europe of Frasers Property Industrial, comments: “We want to provide our diverse customers with attractive and long-term space in the top logistics regions of Germany, including the Frankfurt region. Our latest acquisition in Alzenau – a region with scarce industrial availability - is a strategic location for our European portfolio and customers. Land for logistics and industrial use in these key sites will continue to be needed in the future, so the revitalisation of brownfields is a sensible strategy for us to reduce land sealing. The final asset will create a highly modern and sustainable industrial and commercial park that reflects Frasers Property Industrial’s high sustainability standards and net-zero ambitions."

The latest land acquisition brings Frasers Property Industrial’s strategic landbank to more than 2.3 million sqm across Europe and Australia. The Alzenau site complements other sites owned by the company in the Frankfurt region including Egelsbach, Hanau, Obertshausen and Dreieich.
