GBCA Certification, The Braeside Spec 2 Facility, Victoria

March 2021

The Braeside Spec 2 facility in Victoria, Australia, has achieved a 5 Star As Built certification from the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA). This is the first facility to be rated using the newer Design & As Built v1.2 rating tool.

Leased to Gale Pacific and Toll, the facility features 100kW of on-site solar, expected to generate 128,792kWh annually. Combined with efficient LED lighting throughout the warehouse and office spaces, this is expected to reduce the peak electricity demand by 72%.

2 x 25kL rainwater tanks, and water-efficient fixtures and fittings have been installed to reduce potable water consumption by 85% compared to a standard practice building.

Congratulations to Rodney David and Steve Kakavoules on their hard work to deliver another Green Star certified facility.
